Last rites for Mrs. Edna Stout Dodds,92, were held at the Sheets and Son Funeral home April 6 with the Rev. Thomas Wright officiating. Burial was in the Lisbon cemetery.

Pallbearers were Harry Dodds Jr., Claude Mitchell, Arnold Driscoll, Richard Chapin, Jesse Green and Harry Wehde Jr. Merrill Womach was vocalist.

Mrs. Dodds died at the Wilton Nursing Home April 4 following a long illness.

The daughter of Tobias and Thursie Shawver Mayer, she was born near Tipton March 15, 1882 and was educated in the rural schools of Cedar County, graduated from Lisbon high school in 1898 and attended Cornell college, completing her work in 1901.

In 1902 she was married to Ray Stout. She was married to Charles Dodds at Independence Oct. 16, 1945. A school teacher and musician, she was a lifelong resident of the Tipton area.

She is survived by a foster son, Jesse Baker, Wheatland, and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her husbands and a sister.
