Memorial services for Robert Lee Vans Coy, 66, West Branch were held at the Lutheran church in Tipton April 2. Mr. Van Coy's body was given to University hospitals, Iowa City, for medical research. The family has asked that memorials be sent for the family in the name of the Heart fund.

Mr. Vans Coy died at University hospitals March 30, following a heart attack.

The son of Columbus B. and Georgia Goodner Vans Coy, he was born at Chillicothe, Mo. March 18, 1908. He was married to Margaret Buchwalter Sept. 20, 1941 in Chillicothe. He served in the air force from 1942 to 1945.

He worked at University hospitals from 1965 to 1972 and was employed at the Cookie Jar restaurant in West Liberty at the time of his death.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Marvin Vans Coy, Tipton; 3 daughters, Mrs. Richard (Marlene) Buehrle, Portage, Ind. and Marie and Rosemary, at home; 5 grandchildren, 2 sisters, Mrs. Dean Davis, Tipton and Mrs. Dorothy Robineete, Mt. Vernon, Wash.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, 2 sisters and a daughter.
