24 January 1974 - The Tipton Conservative

Funeral services for Albert E. Wagner Sr., 81, Buchanan, were held at the Sheets and Son funeral home Jan. 18 with Pastor Dean Swartzendruber officiating. Burial was in the Rochester cemetery.

Pallbearers were Leonard Voss, Russell Chapman, Harry and Howard Yerington, Lloyd Meyer and Henry Harden. Mrs. Irma Crawford was organist.

Mr. Wagner died at Mercy hospital, Iowa City, Jan. 16 following a short illness.

The son of Jesse and Margaret Whitmer Wagner, he was born near Tipton Jan. 17, 1892 and was educated in the rural schools of Cedar county. He was married to Edith P. Yerington at Tipton Feb. 4, 1912.

A lifelong resident of the Tipton area, he was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Cedar Bluff Union church.

He is survived by 2 daughters, Mrs. Ben (Nina) Dlouhy, Iowa City and Mrs. Maynard (Evelyn) McGreer, Arlington, Texas; 2 sons, Milton, Columbus, Ohio and Albert Jr., West Branch; 15 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, one great-great-grandson; 2 sisters, Mrs. William (Minnie) Nebergall, Wilton and Mrs. Earl (Ada) Eiselstein, Lowden.

He was preceded in death by his wife, a brother, a sister and a great-grandson.
