Funeral services for Mrs. Alda M. Rarick, 99, were held at the West Branch United Methodist church Oct. 20 with the Rev. Max E. Paige officiating. Burial was in the West Branch cemetery.

Mrs. Rarick died at a Tipton nursing home Oct. 18 following an extended illness.

The daughter of Samuel E. and Eliza Tippenheur Yarbrough, she was born near Iowa City Dec. 29, 1873. She was married to William Rarick Nov. 17, 1896 in Iowa City and worked as a nurse in the West Branch area most of her life. She was a member of the West Branch United church.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Mrs. Clifford (Lillian) Chapman, Wilton and Mrs. Howard (Alda) Crew, West Branch; a son, Malvin E., Stanwood; a grandson, 3 great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Sadie Allen, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a sister and a brother.
