Funeral services for Mrs. Leta L. Marks, 67, a former West Branch resident, were held at West Branch Oct. 8 with burial in the West Branch cemetery.

Mrs. Marks died at Mercy hospital, Iowa City, Oct. 6 following a 3-week illness.

The daughter of Elmo and Katherine Hamilton Hinkley, she was born at Lanesboro Dec. 14, 1905. She married Melvin Marks in Cedar Rapids Jan. 1, 1929.

She was employed all her life as a seamstress. She was a member of the American Busineswswomen's assocaiton, and was past president of the Old Capitol chapter of the group. She was named the organization's woman of the year in 1972.

Surviving are a son, John, Iowa City; 2 daughters, Mrs. Richard (Jean) Dobson, Cedar Falls and Mrs. James (Joan) Hoover, Louisville, Ky.; 5 grandchildren, and 2 sisters, Mrs. Olive Eich, West Branch and Mrs. Ruth Kennison, State Center.

Her husband and 2 brothers preceded her in death.
