Funeral services for David Carl Yeater, 75, Inglewood, Calif., will be held at 1:30 p.m. today (June 28) at Sheets & Son Funeral home. Burial will be in Inglewood, Calif.

The Rev. Richard Smith officiated at the ceremony and the National Music Service provided the music.

Mr. Yeater died June 26 at Mercy hospital, Iowa City, after a sudden illness. He was born Feb. 1, 1898, in Muscatine to David Sylvester and Mary Jane Jenkins Yeater and attended Cedar county schools. He married Elva A. York Jan. 29, 1919 in Tipton and was a retired truck line operator. He left Tipton in 1954 for California and had returned for a visit with his daughter when he was taken ill.

Survivors include sons, Charles Dillon, Waterloo; David Yeater, Cedar Rapids; Howard Yeater, Bonita Park, Calif.; Millard Yeater, Manhattan Beach, Calif.; Robert Yeater, Long Beach, Calif.; and Franklin Yeater, Highland Park, Calif.; daughters, Mrs. Ray (Bertha) Dunklee, Watsonville, Calif.; Mrs. Delbert (Jewell) Heick, Tipton and Mrs. Eugene (Mary) Schroeder, Atalissa, 25 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, brothers, Charles, Cedar Rapids; Norman, Belleville, Ill.; Floyd, Emden, Mo., and George, Daly City, Calif.; and sisters, Mrs. Ethel Sanderson, Libertyville, Ill.; Mrs. Mable York, Moline, Ill., and Mrs. Paul (Dora) Kenney, Stanwood.

He was preceded in death by his wife, a brother, a sister and a granddaughter.
