Funeral services for James Slach, 90, West Branch, were held at the West Branch United Methodist church Feb. 6 with the Rev. Lawrence Carlton officiating. Burial was in the West Branch cemetery.

Mr. Slach died at a West Branch Nursing home Feb. 4, following a long illness.

Mr. Slach was born in Czechoslovakia, May 1, 1882, the son of Anton and Anna Ruzek Slach. He married Bessie Lodr, July 21, 1926, in his native land.

After coming to the United States, he farmed for a number of years near Plato, north of West Branch.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Eugene (Anna) Clark, West Branch; 3 sons, Edwin, Leonard and Arnold, all of West Branch; a sister, Mrs. Julia Henik, Lisbon, and 7 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, 6 brothers and 4 sisters.
