Funeral services for Mrs. Amanda H. Thoene, 74, Durant, mother of Mrs. Paul Hutchens, Tipton, were held at Durant Dec. 19 with burial in the Walcott cemetery. Mrs. Thoene died at Mercy hospital, Iowa City, Dec. 15.

Amanda Dietz was born at Walcott and was married to Walter Thoene in Davenport in 1917. He died in 1963. The couple farmed near Muscatine until retiring.

Mrs. Theone was a past oracle of Fern camp of the Royal Neighbors, Walcott.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Mrs. Paul (Florence) Hutchens, Tipton and Mrs. Sylvester (Lois) Wirth, Durant; a son, Ralph, Durant; 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. William (Margaret) Schnoor, Davenport and a brother, John Dietz, Walcott.
