Funeral services for Forrest Lee Wagner, 53, were held at the Chapman funeral home in Clarence May 20 with the Rev. Calvin Schumacher officiating. Mrs. Robert Hasselbusch was organist. Burial was in the Mechanicsville cemetery.

Mr. Wagner died May 18 at Veterans hospital, Iowa City, where he had been a patient for 13 days.

The son of Forrest L. and Elizabeth Rix Wagner, he was born in Tipton Feb. 23, 1917 and was married to Ruth Perry at Canton, Mo., May 19, 1941. He was employed by the Iowa Highway commission and had been a resident of Stanwood for 10 years.

A veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Legion post in Clarence.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Harold Leinen, Des Moines; 3 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Earl Anderson, Tipton and a brother, Erwin, Mechanicsville.
