Funeral services for Joseph Ostino, 87, were held April 19 at Sheets and Son funeral home with the Rev. Eugene Miller officiating. Burial was in the Masonic cemetery.

Mr. Ostino died at Cedar Manor Thursday, April 16, following an extended illness. The father of the late Mrs. George Langdon, he had been a Tipton resident for 4 years.

Mrs. Irma Crawford was organist and Judge and Mrs. B. J. Maxwell were in charge of the flowers. Pallbearers were Orville Pearson, Richard Pearson, James Ostino, Jim Ostino, Fred Wilcox and Albert Christopher.

Mr. Ostino was born near Turin, Italy, March 12, 1883, the son of Eugene and Mary Muson Ostino. He was educated in the Marceline, Mo. schools and married Nettie M. Beck at Eldon June 16, 1910.

He was a stationary fireman at Drake University, Des Moines, and a member of University Christian church there. Ostino was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America.

Survivors include his wife, Tipton; his son-in-law, George Langdon, Tipton; 3 granddaughters, 5 grandchildren; 3 brothers, Lawrence, Des Moines; John, Numa; and Fred, Kansas City, Mo.; 2 sisters, Mrs. Lena Christopher, Crete Ill., and Mrs. J. S. (Jennie) Padovan, Centerville.
