Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Pruess, 76, Clarence, will be held today, June 25, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's United Church of Christ in Clarence with the Rev. Calvin Schumacher officiating. Burial will be in St. John's cemetery.

Mrs. Pruess died at St. Luke's hospital, Cedar Rapids, June 22, after a brief illness. A life resident of the community, she was born Feb. 2, 1894, the daughter of Chris and Mary Gertz Griem. She was married to Henry Pruess at Clarence on Jan. 15, 1920. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Pruess was a member of St. John's church, the Women's Fellowship, Royal Neighbors and a 50-year charter member of the American Legion auxiliary.

Survivors are a son, Glenn, and a daughter, Gladys, 4 grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Marie Bark and Mrs. Dora Meyer, both of Clarence, and Mrs. Minnie Meyer, Hillsboro, N. Dak.; and brothers, Ed Griem, Clarence and Chris Griem, Bennett.

Pallbearers are Marvin Pruess, Richard Meyer, Lorence Thien, Earl Bark, Keith Griem and Gary Griem. In charge of floral tributes are Mrs. Howard Folk and Mrs. Irvin Kintzel.
