12 March 1970 - The Tipton Conservative

Last rites for Clinton A. (Cy)) Wilkin, were held at United Methodist church at 2 p.m. March 11 with the Rev. Eugene Miller officiating. Burial was in the Clarence cemetery, with Masonic services at the graveside. Dye Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Richard Barden, Robert Leaf, Maynard Helmold, Wayne Ahrens, Paul Phelps and Walter Nelson. Mrs. Robert Leaf and Mrs. Maynard Helmold were in charge of flowers. Mrs. Erma Crawford was organist.

Mr. Wilkin died at Phoenix, Ariz. March 7.

The son of Amos and Cynthia Arnold Wilkin, he was born at Clarence Nov. 25, 1895 and was educated in the Stanwood and Olin schools. He was married to Emeline Kupitz at Geneva, Ill. Aug. 22, 1916.

They farmed near Elgin, Ill. for 25 years and later near Tipton. He was a sales representative for the Heinz company and International Harvester and was steward of the Cedar County home from Dec. 31, 1945 until Dec. 31, 1954.

He was an original member of the Hampshire, Ill., Masonic lodge, a member of the Blue lodge, a Knights Templar, Cryptic council and Royal Arch Mason. He was a 32 degree Mason and a member of the Shine.

Mr. Wilkin was a Methodist, a member of the Elks lodge and Rotary club and active in conservation and wildlife work in the Cedar county area.

He is survived by his wife, 2 daughters, Mrs. Paul (Norma) Caviness, Phoenix, Ariz. and Mrs. Lois DeNunizo, Warrenville, Ill. and a step brother, Paul Phelps, Lost Nation.
