Final rites for Shirrell Dotson, 77, retired Atalissa area farmer, were held Jan. l7 in West Liberty with the Rev. James Lusher officiating. Burial was at the Oak Ridge cemetery.

Mr. Dotson died at his home near Atalissa Jan. 4, following a long illness. The son of William and Marta Ann Blair Dotson, he was born Dec. 3, 1892 in Cedar county. He was married to Ethel Crees at Tipton Oct.9, 1920.

He was a member of the Rochester Methodist church, Ionic Masonic Lodge 122 at Atalissa, a veteran of World War I and a 50-year member of the West Liberty American Legion.

He is survived by his wife; 3 sons, Glenn and Duane, Atalissa, and Carl, Greenville, S. C.; a brother, Hilbert and a sister, Hilda, both of Tampa, Fla., and 9 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, 3 sisters and a granddaughter.
