November 20, 1969 - The Tipton Conservative

Funeral services for Ruby Ellen Wingert, 82, were held at the United Methodist church Nov. 14 with the Rev. Eugene Miller officiating. Burial was in the Masonic cemetery. The Dye funeral home was in charge.

Pallbearers were Harold and Wallace Wingert, LeRoy Kakert, Darrell Hurdle, Milton Behrens and Fran Karn. Mrs. Irma Crawford was organist.

Miss Wingert died at Cedar Manor Nov. 12 following a long illness.

The daughter of Frank D. and Emma Stubblefield Wingert, she was born at the family home at York Prairie, 4 1/2 miles from Bennett Jan. 17, 1887.

She was a graduate of Tipton high school and attended Cornell college. She taught at Adams and Hayes Elementary schools in Davenport in the 1920's and 30's.

A lifetime resident of Tipton, she was a member of the Methodist church, a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a past president of the Tipton Garden club.

She is survived by a brother, Ralph Wingert, Tipton, and several nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters.
