Funeral services for Francis Arthur (Frank) Kester, 91, were held at the Rochester Methodist church March 11 with the Rev. James Lusher and Gordon Smith officiating. Burial was in the Rochester cemetery.

Pallbearers were Harold Conley, Jerry Wood, Ted and Don Worrall, Lester Chapman and Harold Wehde. George Thordsen was vocalist and Mrs. Harold Conley, organist. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Wood and Mrs. Elsie Stiff were in charge of flowers.

The Golden Rule Lodge No. 24, AF & AM conducted Masonic rites at the church.

Mr. Kester died March 8 at Mercy hospital, Iowa City, where he had been taken after becoming ill at his home.

The son of John F. and Martha Ellen Walters Kester, he was born at Rochester and spent his entire life in that area. He attended the Rochester school.

He was married to Myrtle May Wilkerson at Wilton Feb. 18, 1904. He farmed near Rochester until he retired. He was a member of the Rochester Methodist church and the Masonic lodge.

He is survived by his wife and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother and 2 sisters.
