27 June 1968 - The Tipton Conservative

Final rites for Hugo T. Paustian, 80, retired Bennett farmer, were held at the Sheets and Son Funeral home in Tipton June 24. Burial was in the Durant cemetery.

Services were conducted by the Rev. Robert Ahrendt. Mrs. Allen Peckenschneider and Mrs. Ernest Riedesel Jr. were vocalists and Mrs. Riedesel organist. Pallbearers were Wallace Ford, Norman Hinrichs, Dean Minteer, Elmer Stuhr, Warren Rixe and Dwain Wilkening.

Mr. and Mrs. Dan Hamann and Mr. and Mrs. Charley Wulf were in charge of flowers.

Mr. Paulstain died June 21 at Mercy hospital, Davenport, following a lingering illness.

The son of Tim and Kathrian Waeke Paustian, he was born at Durant April 5, 1888 and was educated in the rural schools of Muscatine and Cedar county. He was married to Mary Stuehm Nov. 24, 1915.

A retired farmer, he had lived in Bennett for 25 years.

Survivors include his wife and a brother, Victor, Fox Lake, Ill.
