Nancy Jo (Jedlicka) Pruess, 54, of Tipton, died peacefully at home, on Sunday, September 19, 2021, while under the care of Iowa City Hospice and with family at her side. A funeral officiated by Sherie Gates will be held in the Tipton Middle School gym at 10:00 am on Thursday, September 23, 2021. Immediately following the funeral service, Nancy will be laid to rest in the St. Joseph’s Cemetery in West Branch, IA. Also in the Tipton Middle School gym, there will be a public visitation from 2pm- 6pm on Wednesday, September 22, 2021. In Nancy’s memory, memorial funds have been established for Iowa City Hospice and the Tipton Middle School Special Education Program. Nancy, daughter of Kenneth William and Twyla Nadine (Parsons) Jedlicka was born on Friday December 23, 1966 in Iowa City, IA. She graduated with the Tipton Class of 1985. On May 18, 1996, Nancy was united in marriage to Chris Pruess at the Methodist Church in Mechanicsville, IA. Nancy was the Tipton Middle School secretary for 16 years. She had an infectious personality and selfless heart. She was known for her great sense of humor, beaming smile, laugh and beautiful blue eyes. She loved her job and helping children. Nancy had a deep appreciation for flowers and was especially fond of Gerber Daisies. She also enjoyed decorating her home for the seasons, spending time with her family, her grandkids and her beloved pugs, Darla and Ray.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Chris; children, Ali (Clay Worrell) Cawiezell of West Branch, IA, Tyler (Emily) Cawiezell of Des Moines, IA, Samantha Pruess of Ely, IA and Turner Pruess of Tipton, IA; sisters, Debbie (Clifford) Taylor of Mechanicsville, IA, Dixie (Dennis) Pelzer of Tipton, IA, Becky Gilbert of Bettendorf, IA, and Peggy (Bruce) Flockart of Mechanicsville, IA; and her grandchildren, Bohdan First and Arlo Worrell. She was preceded in death by her parents; niece, Jennifer Flockhart; and her nephew, David Behrle.
