Miss McKee died Oct. 16 at Cedar Manor, following an illness of several months.

The daughter of Royer and Emma Landt McKee, she was born Nov. 6, 1880 in Tipton and spent her life in the community. She was graduated from Tipton high school and attended the Bardley school of engraving at Peoria, Ill. in 1897.

For many years she was associated with her father in the operation of the McKee Jewelry store in the east half of the building on 5th Street occupied by Gambles before it was torn down last year.

She was active in the social and civil life in Tipton and was secretary of the Tipton Woman's club for many years. She was a member of the Searchlight club and the Tipton Golf and country club.

As a girl she could remember playing on the scaffolding of the addition to the old Cedar county courthouse--for which she was spanked. Her death came only a short time after the courthouse was razed.

She is survived by a number of distant relatives and a large number of friends in the Tipton community.
