Services for Jens Skriver, 78, of West Liberty, were held Sept. 2 at the Barker Funeral home, West Branch. Military rites were held at the West Branch cemetery.

Mr. Skriver died Aug. 30 at Mercy hospital extended care center, Iowa City, after a lengthy illness.

He was born Feb. 15, 1889, at Iowa City, the son of Christian C. and Christine Anderson Skriver. He farmed all of his life in the Downey and West Liberty areas, retiring in 1960.

Mr. Skriver was of Lutheran faith. He was a veteran of W.W. I and was a member of the West Branch American Legion. He was Past Grand Master of the West Liberty IOOF Lodge.

He never married.

Mr. Skriver is survived by 2 brothers, Charles, Cedar Rapids, and Harry, West Branch, and a sister, Mrs. Sidsel Hughes, Iowa City.

A brother and sister preceded him in death.
