Last rites for Mrs. Helen McGee, 72, were held March 20 at the Sheets and Son funeral home with the Rev. Richard Haar officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph's cemetery, Cedar Valley.

Pallbearers were James Askam, Kenneth Brokaw, Gene Phelps, Roger Sackett, William Stiff and Richard Nelson. Mrs. Irma Crawford was organist and Mrs. Richard Nelson and Mrs. Roger Sackett were in charge of flowers.

Mrs. McGee died March 18 at Mercy hospital, Iowa City, following a lingering illness.

The daughter of Benjamin and Anna Goodale Long, she was born near Tipton Aug. 23, 1894 and attended the rural Cedar county schools. She was married to Patrick McGee in Tipton.

A practical nurse, she lived all of her life in Cedar county. She was a member of King's Daughters, Eastern Star, Rochester Methodist church, the Women's Relief corps and the Inland Township Homemakers.

She is survived by a son, Cecil Martens, Newhall, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Anna Askam, Anamosa, 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. John (Chat) Sharpless, Rochester; 3 brothers, Hiram Long, Rochester; Orville Long, Olin and Raymond Long, Letts.
