Services will be held at 1 p.m. today (March 2) in Zion Lutheran Church for Rev. John B. Nieman. Rev. Nieman succumbed Sunday evening at University Hospital, Iowa City of injuries sustained in a nearly headon collision with another vehicle about four miles north of Wilton Jct. The driver of the other car, Adolph Riessen, 77, of rural Walcott was killed outright in the crash.

Rev. Walter Niermann, Rev. Clemens Schroeder and Rev. Clyde Burmesiter will officiate at the services.

John Burdette Nieman was born July 11, 1919 at Delhi, Iowa, the son of John B. and Caroline Maurer Nieman. He married Ila Sorenson on August 15, 1956 at Sidney, Montana.

He was a graduate of Concordia College, Milwaukee, and Concordia Seminary, St. Louis. From 1943 to 1955 he served congregations in Montana and North Dakota, and he also served a term as stewardship secretary of the North Dakota District.

In 1944 he accepted the call to Imanual Lutheran Church, Williamsburg, Iowa, and additional service was rendered as counselor of the Williamsburg circuit.

Rev. Nieman was a member of the Wilton Chamber of Commerce.

Surviving other than his wife Ila are four sons, John B. Jr., a student at Concordia Senior College, David, Paul and Daniel, all at home; one daughter, Ruth, at home; one brother, Wm. C. Nieman of Hampshire, Ill.; three sisters, Mrs. Perry (Dorothea) Williams of Des Moines, Mrs. O. H. (Verena) Moll of Arlington, Minn., and Mrs. Stephen (Arline) Marcsisak, Elkader, Iowa.

Nieman's death is the fourth auto fatality in Cedar county this year.
