Funeral services for Mrs. Ralph W. (Gladys) Branson, 72, a lifelong resident of West Branch, were held Dec. 24 at the West Branch Friends church with the Rev. James Thompson officiating. Burial was in the West Branch cemetery.

Mrs. Branson died Dec. 22 at Mercy hospital in Iowa City after an extended illness.

Mrs. Branson was born March 31, 1894, at Springdale, the daughter of Dr. Joseph and Bertha Hoover Hinchman. She was married Oct. 19, 1917, at West Liberty.

A 1912 graduate of West Branch high school, Mrs. Branson was the librarian at the public library in West Branch for a number of years.

She was a member of the Friends church and had served a number of years as superintendent of the Sunday school. She also was a member of the Women's Christian Temperance Union.

Surviving are her husband and a brother, Dr. A. Walter Hinchman of Brady, Tex.
