Funeral services for Jess Elias Nordyke, 62, Eldridge, were held Oct. 22 at the Sheets and Son funeral home with the Rev. Eugene Miller officiating. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jerry and Keith Wood, Robert Leaf, Walter Cawiezell, Michael Gade and Ronald Rife. Mrs. Irma Crawford was organist and Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Stiff and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Voss were in charge of flowers.

Mr. Nordyke died Oct. 20 at Jane Lamb hospital in Clinton following a heart attack.

The son of John and Mary Jane Duncan Nordyke, he was born Sept. 24, 1904, in Clemons and was married to Hazel Rife at Trenton, Mo. Aug. 22, 1948. He was a crane operator for the LaCross Dredge Co.

He is survived by his wife, 3 sons, Mervin, Des Moines; Donald, Clemons and Leonard, Melbourne; 3 daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Neva) Whitmore, Marshalltown; Mrs. George (Darla) Barrett, Peoria, Ill. and Mrs. Reuben (Zola) Darchardt, Osage; 9 grandchildren and 3 sisters, Mrs. Etta Smith, Marshalltown; Mrs. Elsie Sharp, Clemons and Mrs. Fred (Lena) Brackney, Canyon City, Colo.
