Clara Mae Eves, 97, of Tipton, IA, entered eternity in the early morning hours of Thursday, April 1, 2021, while under the care of Hospice at Prairie Hills Assisted Living, Tipton, IA.

On Saturday, April, 3, 2021, Fry Funeral Home will host a Visitation at 12:00 PM, followed by a 1:00 PM Funeral Service officiated by David Fry. Clara will be laid to rest at the Tipton Masonic Cemetery at 2:00 PM.

In Clara’s memory, a memorial fund has been established for the Tipton Senior Center. The family asks that all cards and memorials be mailed to 1100 Mulberry St, Tipton, IA 52772, in c/o Barbara Cawiezell.

Clara, daughter of Vance and Nellie (Buchman) Dallege, was born on Saturday, August 11, 1923 in Cedar County. She attended Sandy Hook Country School and on November 23, 1941, married Eugene Merle Eves at the Rochester Methodist Church in Rochester, IA.

Eugene and Clara lived on a farm, west of Tipton, until 1957 when they built their home in Tipton. Clara lived there until the day before her 97th birthday.

Clara was a homemaker, raising two daughters and worked many years at DeWayne’s Flower Shop in Tipton, IA. She was a member of the United Methodist Women, Order of the King’s Daughters and was a board member of the Tipton Senior Center. After retirement, Eugene and Clara enjoyed traveling around the United States and spent many winters as snow birds with friends. After Eugene passed away in 2001, Clara enjoyed crocheting, hand quilting, jigsaw puzzles and was active at the Tipton Senior Center.

Clara is survived by her daughter, Barbara Cawiezell of Tipton, IA; brother, Harley (Dee) Dallege of Marion, IA; sisters-in-law, Florence Dallege of Tipton, IA and Caroline Hinty of Pleasantville, IA; son-in-law, Ronald Blick of Atalissa, IA; 6 Grandchildren, Lauri Lehn of North Liberty, Robin (Jeanette) Werling of Cedar Rapids, IA, Shelly (Darrin) Lett of West Branch, IA, Joseph (Kandice) Blick of Atalissa, IA, Kori Blick of Iowa City, IA, and April (Aaron) Schrock of Kalona, IA; 12 Great-grandchildren and 14 Great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vance and Nellie Dallege; husband, Eugene Merle Eves; daughter, Donna (Ronald) Blick; siblings, Lester, Leo, Edna, Floyd, Frances and Darrell; sons-in-law, Eldon Werling and Walter Cawiezell; and grandson-in-law, Daniel Lehn.
