Craig Steven Pearson, ‘Worm’, 62, of Tipton, died suddenly on Wednesday evening, February 3, 2021. In accordance with Craig’s wishes, he will be cremated. Services to be held at a later date include, a private family only Graveside Service at Rochester Cemetery, Tipton, IA and a Celebration of Life Service that will be open to the public. In memory of Craig, a memorial fund has been established in his name. Cards and memorials may be mailed to 1550 Monroe Ave, Tipton, IA 52772, in c/o Doreena Crock. Craig, son of Donald Rhoads and Jo Ann (Thumma) Pearson, was born on Thursday, October 23, 1958 in Cedar Rapids, IA. Craig farmed and raised livestock for many years and enjoyed construction. He used his Finish Carpenter and woodworking skills to build and remodeled homes. He was a proud member of the Fremont Lodge #616 in Stanwood, IA. and the Presbyterian Church in Mechanicsville, IA. He was passionate about steam engines and spent a lot of time with his two boys at steam engine shows.

After their first meeting on New Year’s Eve, 2011, Craig’s heart was joined to the heart of Doreena Crock of Tipton, IA. Craig was a charmer and loved to have fun and a good time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed camping, especially at Cedar Valley. He loved his pets; dogs, Jake and Leah and his cats, Goldie ‘Sassie’ and Leftover ‘Lefty’.

Craig is survived by, his mother, Jo Ann Pearson of Mechanicsville, IA; the love of his life, Doreena Crock of Tipton, IA; sons, Michael (Megan) Pearson of Mechanicsville, IA and Ben (Caitlyn Hartline) Pearson of Kalamazoo, MI; sister, Cynthia (Larry) Platner of Lisbon, IA; brother, Dennis (Tracy) Pearson of Mechanicsville, IA; grandchildren, Maelee Pearson, Lucas Pearson, Emma Pearson; and ‘grandchildren in his heart’, Cheyanne Cook, Ella Cook, Hazel Cook, Alexa Cantu and Easton Crock. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald.
