Funeral services for Mrs. Alferd (Ethyl) Stephenson, 70, Iowa City, will be held at 11 a.m. today (Thursday) at the Chapman Funeral home in Clarence. The Rev. David L. Schuldt, pastor of First Methodist church, Iowa City, will officiate. Burial will be in Diamond cemetery.

Mrs. Stephenson, a former Bennett resident, died March 7 at an Iowa City hospital.

She was born July 21, 1895 at Hale and married Dr. Alferd Stephenson Oct. 1, 1921 in Waterloo. They lived in Bennett for many years, where Dr. Stephenson was a veterinarian, moving to Iowa City in 1963. She was a member of O.E.S. and the American Legion Auxiliary

Survivors include her husband; 2 sons, Joe, Cedar Rapids and Don, Iowa City; a sister, Ina Cruise, Cedar Rapids and 4 grandchildren.
