Funeral services for Charles Edgar Hartley, 91, Lisbon, who died June 30 in a Mt. Vernon rest home were at St. Mary Catholic church in Tipton July 3 with the Rev. G. A. Lillis officiating. Sheets and Son were in charge. Burial was in Tipton Masonic cemetery.

Pallbearers were Luther, Roland, Alfred and Junior Hartley; Donald and Vernon Luettjohann, all grandsons of Mr. Hartley. Music was by the church choir with Mrs. Reno Droll, organist.

He was born July 20, 1873 in Putnam county, West Virginia, the son of William and Eliza Runyon Hartley and educated in the rural school of the county. He was married to Prudence Abigail Williams in the same county May 20, 1893. He was a retired farmer and had been a resident of the Lisbon-Mt. Vernon area for more than 40 years.

Survivors include 3 sons, Louis and John of Clinton, and Woodrow of Gainesville, Ga.; 3 daughters, Mrs. Robert (Minnie) Bolton, Tipton; Mrs. Gus (Nellie) Lamb, Cedar Falls and Mrs. Lucille York, Courtland, Ohio; 16 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.

His parents, 3 brothers and 2 sisters preceded him in death.
