Soren Christensen, 77, a former resident of West Branch, died at Veterans Hospital in Knoxville May 18 after a brief illness.

Graveside services were May 20 in the West Branch cemetery, with the Rev. William Thalacker officiating.

Mr. Christensen was born in Denmark August 14, 1887, and came to the United States as a child.

He farmed in the West Branch area until becoming a patient in Veterans Hospital about 25 years ago. He was a veteran of World War I.

There are no immediate survivors.
