Mrs. Bertha Elizabeth Pearson, 88, a life resident of the West Branch area died May 1 at the Crestview Nursing Home in West Branch, following an extended illness.

She was born Aug. 6, 1876, near Tipton, the daughter of Frank and Catherine Creps Little.

She lived in the Tipton area until her marriage to Albanus Pearson on June 17, 1909 at Springdale. He preceded her in death in 1932.

She was a member of the West Branch Friends Church, and the Priscilla Club.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Laura E. Frank, Anamosa; a son, John F. Pearson of Jackson, Mich.; 2 step-daughters, Mrs. Clara Hinkhouse, West Branch, and Mrs. Ethel E. Mountain, West Des Moines. Four grandchildren, and one great grandchild also survive.

Funeral services were held May 3 from the West Branch Friends Church, with Donald Thompson, and Mrs. Irma Guthrie officiating. Interment was n the Springdale cemetery.
