John Edward Differding, 78, long-time resident of Mechanicsville, died in St. Luke's hospital in Cedar Rapids April 29. He operated a harness and shoe repairing business until March when he became ill.

He is survived by 3 daughters, Geraldine Kamholz of Phoenix, Ariz., Edna Edwards of Cedar Rapids and Phyllis Edwards of Mechanicsville; a son, Charles Differding of Summerville, S.C.; 3 grandchildren; 3 sisters, Mrs. J. S. Kubias of Redlands, Calif., Mrs. J. H. Raher of Sun City, Calif., and Sister Mary Barbara Ann of Cedar Rapids.

Services were May 2 at the Methodist church in Mechanicsville will burial in Rose Hill cemetery.
