Mrs. Edith C. Owens, 58, died March 15 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Arnold Slach of rural West Branch.

Funeral services were March 17 at West Branch with the Rev. Charles F. Haigh officiating. Burial was in the West Branch cemetery.

Mrs. Owens had lived at Chelsea before moving to West Branch last January.

She was born Jan. 29, 1907, at Muncie, Ind., the daughter of Laif and Mary Frankford, and married Vaughn Owens who died in 1950.

Surviving are 3 sons, Michael, Oregon, Wis., Dennis, Blair, Nebr., and Danny, Toledo; five daughters, Mrs. Slach, West Branch, Mrs. Dean Goff, Iowa City, Mrs. Charles Trotter, Ft. Madison, Mrs. Patricia Linam, Orange, Calif., and Selma Owens, Iowa City; a brother, Roy Frankford, and 9 grandchildren.
