Mrs. Jessie Phelps, 58, Wilton Junction, died Feb. 24 at the Crestview Nursing home in West Branch where she had been a resident for 6 months.

Born April 1, 1906, in Jones county, Iowa, she was the daughter of John and Elizabeth Cromwell.

She married Joe G. Phelps in October of 1928 at Clinton. A life-long resident of Cedar county, she was a member of the Wilton Junction Presbyterian church.

Survivors include 2 sons, William, Wilton Junction and Keith, West Liberty; 2 daughters, Mrs. Lyle (Geraldine) Barklow and Janet Phelps, both of Wilton Junction; 4 sisters, Mrs. Matt (Ethel) O'Brien, Mrs. E. E. (Charlotte) Maloney, Mrs. Larry (Dorothy) Appelhaus, all of Cedar Rapids, and Mrs. Floyd (Evelyn) Horton, Onslow, Iowa; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Her step-father, H. J. Ravenscrost of Onslow, also survives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother, and a daughter.

Funeral services were Feb. 27 at Wilton Junction with the Rev. Homer Perry officiating.
