Funeral services for Mrs. Allen E. Rumble, 55, a teacher in the Tipton schools over a 30 year period, were held Feb. 13 at the First United Church of Christ with the Rev. E. H. Lauer officiating.

Pallbearers were Glenn Fear, Dr. H. J. Harris, Henry Witt, Ralph Werling, A. S. Petersen and L. D. Suchomel. Mrs. Norma Christianson was organist and Mrs. Wayne Miller and Mr. and Mrs. Sprague Hall were in charge of flowers.

Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery. The Sheets and Son funeral home was in charge of the services.

Mrs. Rumble died at 1:30 a.m. Feb. 11 at her home in Tipton after an illness of approximately a year.

Virginia, daughter of Alex and Carolyn Hardin Walker, was born Feb. 25, 1909 in Lancaster, Ky., and received her secondary education in the schools of Lawton, Okla. She attended Stephens college and the University of Iowa.

She was married to Allen E. Rumble at Lawton, Okla., June 6, 1934. She was a teacher of English and literature in the Tipton schools until her resignation last year because of ill health.

She was a member of the First United Church of Christ, the Order of Eastern Star, the Tipton Woman's club, the 19th Century club and the Red Cross.

She is survived by her husband, a son, Walker, Iowa City, 2 grandchildren and a niece and nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
