Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Jeanette Small, 82, will be held at 2 p.m. today (Thursday) at the Springdale Methodist church with the Rev. Charles F. Haigh officiating. Burial will be in the Tipton Masonic cemetery. The body is at the Barker funeral home.

Mrs. Small died Feb. 8 at a West Branch nursing home after a short illness.

The daughter of James and Ellen Cosgriff Cessford, she was born Sept. 23, 1882 at Clarence. She was married to W. A. Small in Tipton April 5, 1905. The Smalls lived on a farm northeast of Springdale for many years. He died in 1943.

She was a member of the Springdale Methodist church and a life member of the Women's Society for Christian Service. She also belonged to the Juanita chapter of the Order of Eastern Star and the Self Culture club.

She is survived by 3 sons, Walter and Homer of West Branch and Stanley, West Liberty; 5 daughters, Mrs. Hazel Dewey, Iowa City; Mrs. Fern Harris, Cabot Ark.; Mrs. Esther Murphy, West Branch; Mrs. Helen Conner, Springdale, and Mrs. Florence Wigim, West Liberty; a brother, John A. Cessford, Ames and a sister, Mrs. Clarence Crock, Mechanicsville. Also 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
