Richard L. Mather, 30, died Jan. 24 at his home in Springdale after a long illness.

Funeral services were Jan. 27 at West Branch, with Mrs. Irma Guthrie of Iowa City officiating. Burial was in the Springdale cemetery.

Mr. Mather was born May 17, 1934, on a farm south of Springdale, the son of Robert and Helen Reed Mather.

He was a member of the Friends church.

Surviving are the parents; 2 brothers, Stuart, Springdale, and Edward, Fennimore, Wis.; and a sister, Mrs. Barbara Parker, Newton.
