Graveside services for Clarence W. Farrier, 71 were held at the Tipton Masonic cemetery Dec. 16, with the Rev. Eugene Miller officiating. The Dye funeral home was in charge.

Mr. Farrier died Dec. 6 at Alexandria, Va. He had been in a nursing home for 10 months.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. T. D. Farrier, he was born in Tipton April 28, 1893 and graduated from Tipton high school. His father operated a bakery on the south side of the court square for many years.

He attended Armour Institute in Chicago, Ill. and the University of Iowa and became an electrical engineer. He was the chief electrical engineer for the Chicago World Fair in the 1930's.

He was also an excellent musician and played in the Tipton Juvenile band and the concert band while he lived here.

Mr. Farrier lived in the Chicago and Washington, D.C. areas most of his life.

He is survived by his wife, Edna, and a sister, Mrs. Della Sanford, Des Moines. He was preceded in death by a son John, in 1961 and by several sisters, including Mrs. Blanche Wellman and Mrs. Florence Tufts.
