Mrs. Annie Laurie Mather, 92, a longtime resident of Springdale, died Aug. 30 in a West Branch nursing home following an extended illness.

Services were held Sept. 1 at the West Branch Friends church with James Thompson and Mrs. J. Taylor Guthrie officiating. Burial was in the Springdale cemetery.

Mrs. Mather was born at Butler, Mo., the daughter of Robert and Pamela Greene Kirkland. She married J. Elbert Mather at Anamosa May 28, 1896. Following their marriage, the couple moved to Springdale.

She was a member of the West Branch Friends church.

Surviving are 4 sons, Robert K., Springdale, Dr. J. Winford, East Gary, Ind., Merlin E., South Elgin, Ill., and Donald E., Portage, Ind.; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1951.
