Mrs. Alvena Trede, 90, Durant's oldest native resident, died at 12:15 a.m. Aug. 7 at Mercy Hospital, Davenport, after an extended illness.
She was born Dec. 1, 1873 at Durant, a daughter of William and Mary Wulf. She was married to Gustav Kruse Oct. 30, 1895 at Durant. Mr. Kruse died in 1899. Her second marriage was to George Trede March 2, 1904 at Durant.
Mrs. Trede was a 52 year member of the Royal Neighbor lodge. She was affiliated with the Cedar County Historical Society and the Durant Ladies Aid.
Surviving are 2 sons, Roy Kruse, Wilton and William Trede, Durant; 2 daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Wilma) Gardner, Los Angeles, Calif. and Mrs. Victor (Dorinda) Ormsby, Durant; 4 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Durant Aug. 10. Burial was at Durant.
