Funeral services for Mrs. Emma K. Metzger, 85, were held July 22 at the Sheets and Son Funeral home with the Rev. Marlin Whitmer in charge. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.

Pallbearers were James Moore, Russell Scott, Edward Kemp, L. E. Aker, Melvin Fick and Ivan J. Clein. Honorary pallbearers were Earl Escher, Fred Eilers, Henry Walters and A. W. Kemmann. Mrs. Earl Escher was organist.

Mrs. Fred Eilers, Mrs. A. W. Kemmann, Mrs. Henry Walters and Mrs. Grace Fraseur were in charge of flowers.

Mrs. Metzger died July 20 at her home in Tipton after a long illness.

The daughter of Benedict and Caroline Singer Sanley, she was born in Cedar county Dec. 9, 1878 and was educated in the rural schools of the county.

Mrs. Metzger had lived in Tipton for more than 30 years. She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
