Funeral services for Mrs. Herman (Lizzie Sophie) Rixe, 73, were held May 25 at Peace church in Bennett with the Rev. Robert Ahrendt in charge. Burial was in Inland cemetery.

Pallbearers were Donald Juchter, Delmar Bachus, Dallas Wright, Robert O'Mara, Edwin Hartwig and August Rixe. Vocalists were Ruth and Ernest Riedesel Jr. Mrs. Sylvan Kleppe, Mrs. Amanda Hendrichs and Norman were in charge of flowers.

Mrs. Rixe died at her home in Bennett May 22 after a lingering illness of several months.

The daughter of Henry and Alma Meyer Juchter, she was born in Tipton Oct. 17, 1890 and was educated in the rural schools of Inland township. She was married to Herman Rixe at Bennett Feb. 16, 1916.

Mrs. Rixe lived in the Tipton and Bennett area most of her life. The Rixes retired from farming in 1947 and moved to Lowden. They moved to Bennett in 1959.

She was a member of Peace Church of Bennett and active in the Amvets in Bennett.

Mrs. Rixe is survived by her husband; 2 sons, Harold, Wayland; Warren, Bennett; 2 daughters, Mrs. Rudolph (Verna) Proesch, Lowden and Mrs. Claire (Jeanette) Foote, Tipton; a brother, Martin Juchter, Bennett; 2 sisters, Mrs. Art (Selma) Bachus and Mrs. Clayton (Alma) Wright, both of Bennett and 5 grandchildren.
