Funeral services for Mrs. Hattie Broders, 76, of Waterloo, were conducted May 25 at Durant.

Dr. Deane Chapman of the Methodist church in Dubuque officiated. Max Lauser was vocalist.

Casket bearers, all nephews of Mrs. Broders, were Leroy Sindt, Roy and Harold Hinkhouse, Johnny Olsendorf, Richard Rocholz and Bert Chelf. Burial was in the Durant cemetery.

Mrs. Broders died May 20 in Allen Memorial Hospital at Waterloo following an illness of 43 years due to arthritis.

Born May 30, 1887 in Cedar county, she was the daughter of John and Wilhelmina Schroeder. She was united in marriage to Herman H. Broders Jan. 31, 1910 in Davenport. The couple farmed near Stockton until moving to Waterloo in 1914. Mrs. Broders was a member of the Waterloo Chapter 128 of O.E.S. and of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband, 2 sisters, Mrs. Amelia Hinkhouse, Wilton Junction and Mrs. Agnes Sindt, West Liberty; 3 brothers, Fred, of Durant, Emil, Wilton Junction, and Otto Schroeder, West Liberty.

Mrs. Broders was preceded in death by 2 infant sons, a sister and her parents.
