Funeral services for Bert Franklin Rochholz, 83, retired farmer, were held Jan. 25 at the Sheets and Dahn funeral home with Gordon Smith in charge. Mrs. Irma Crawford was organist.

Pallbearers were Oscar, F. E., C. A., Loyd, Roy and Vern Nebergall and Vance Dallege. Burial was in the South Bethel cemetery.

Mr. Rochholz died at his home in Tipton of a heart attack about 6 p.m. Jan. 23. He had been in ill health for several months.

The son of J. W. and Wilhelmina Fulwider Rochholz, he was born in Sugar Creek township Jan. 9, 1881, and spent his life in Cedar county. He farmed in the South Bethel community for many years.

He was married to Maude Garrard of Blockton Feb. 19, 1930, at Muscatine.

He is survived by his wife; 4 children: Mrs. Charles (Peggy) Sutton, Omaha, Nebr.; Mrs. Arthur (Wilma) Jenner, Wilton Junction; Harold, Linwood, Calif., and Mrs. Glenn (Verna) Havens, Torrence, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Martha Barkhurst, and a brother, Harry, both of Tipton; 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, 2 sisters, Mrs. Grace Dice and Mrs. George McCroskey, and a brother who died in infancy.
