Fritz H. Grummer, 60, Durant, died April 15 at Mercy hospital, Davenport, after an illness of one year.

Mr. Grummer was born Oct. 25, 1903, the son of Hendrich and Lilly Grummer, at Hamburg, Germany.

He came to the United States March 30, 1922, at the age of 18. He was married Dec. 5, 1931, to Alma S. Koeppe. They farmed for 26 years near Wilton Junction before retiring to Durant in 1957. He had also worked part-time for the Pioneer Seed Corn company.,

He was a member of the Durant Knights of Pythias lodge.

Surviving are the widow; a son, Fritz J. Grummer, Las Vegas, Nev.; one daughter, Mrs. Donald (Joyleen) Lett of Wilton Junction; a brother, Hans, Hamburg, Germany; a sister, Hilda Fraser, Oslo, Norway, and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services were conducted at Durant April 18 by the Rev. Richard Anderson of St. Paul's Episcopal church.

Burial was at Memorial park cemetery, Muscatine.
