Funeral services for Mrs. Celia Clemmens, 82, Lowden, were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Zion United Church of Christ Lowden. The Rev. Robert McDanel was in charge. Burial was in the Lowden cemetery.

Pallbearers were 6 nephews, Lawrence and Francis Schoff, Martin Daehn, Lewis Sander and Dale and Robert Meyer. Mrs. Arnold Sobotka, Mrs. John Proesch and Mrs. Arnom Meier were in charge of flowers. Chapman Funeral Home, Clarence was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Clemmens died March 21 at the Rice Custodial home, TIpton. She was born Oct. 31, 1881 in Lowden, where she was a life long resident.

She was married to Andrew F. Clemmens in 1901. They operated the Lincoln hotel from 1941 until his death in 1944. She was married to Fred Clemmens in 1946. He died in 1961. Mrs. Clemmens retired from the hotel business in 1946.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Mrs. Arnold (Vera) Koch, Lowden; Mrs. Robert (Bernice) Lessig, Wilmington, Calif.; a stepson, Ray Clemmens, Atalissa; a granddaughter and a grandson, 2 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Mrs. William (Lottie) Bicknese, Mrs. Freda Sander and Mrs. Otto (Alma) Stolte, all of Lowden; and 2 brothers, Ben Meyer, LaPorte City and August Meyer, Lowden.
