Mrs. H. C. Shafer, 65, the former Lydia Brammer of Lowden, died Jan. 23 at Hampton. Funeral services were held Jan. 25 at Hampton, with burial in the Hampton cemetery.
The former Lydia Brammer was born in Lowden, the daughter of the late Rev. and Mrs. J. H. Brammer, Lowden, who served as pastor of Trinity Lutheran church from 1893-1920, and an additional 6 years as assistant pastor. She received her education at Trinity day school, Lowden, and received her nurse's training in the Lutheran hospital at Hampton.
She is survived by her husband and a daughter, Ann Shafer, Iowa Falls; 5 sisters, Mrs. Herman (Marie) Schmidt), Austin, Tex.; Mrs. William (Martha) Notwehr, Minnesota; Mrs. Tabea Vogel, New York City; Mrs. Robert (Hulda) Ilten, Cedar Rapids, and Mrs. Carl (Irene) Freund, in Florida, and a brother.
