Funeral services for Mrs. Myrtle E. Hobstetter, 86, were held Dec. 18 at the Sheets and Dahn funeral home, with the Rev. James Elvig in charge. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.
Mrs. Irma Crawford was organist and Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Frederick and Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Cline were in charge of flowers. Pallbearers were nephews and grandsons: Ronald Reynolds, Charles Maurer, Donn Albert, Donald, Thomas and Dean Challis.
Mrs. Hobstetter died early Dec. 16 at University hospital in Iowa City after a short illness.
The daughter of Thomas and Sarah Goodrich Challis, she was born at Red Oak Grove Nov. 9, 1876.
She was married to Charles Edwin Hobstetter, who died in 1958.
She is survived by 4 daughters, Mrs. Arnold (Margaret) Albert; Mrs. Walter (Dorothy) Randall and Mrs. Raymond (Alice) Maurer, all of Tipton and Mrs. Martha Baldwin, West Liberty, 4 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren and 2 brothers, Ray Challis, Tipton and Ralph Challis, Iowa City.
She was preceded in death by her husband and 2 brothers.
