Funeral services for Eldo Albert Mitchell, 81, retired farmer, were held Nov. 18 at the First Presbyterian church in Tipton with the Revs. Louis Penningroth and Ralph Adamson in charge. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery at Cedar Bluff. The Dye funeral home was in charge.

Pallbearers were Guy M., Roger, Donald and Richard Mitchell, Charles Schutterle and Donald Bohr. William Naber and Mrs. Jack Leverenz were vocalists with Mrs. C. P. Christianson as organist.

Mr. Mitchell died at St. Luke's hospital in Cedar Rapids at 2:30 a.m. Nov. 15 after an illness of 4 days.

The son of Israel and Sara Mitchell, he was born at Tuppers Plaines, Ohio, Feb. 28, 1881, attended school at Tuppers Plaines and came to Cedar county in 1900. He was married to Bertha N. Achey at Marion Oct. 8, 1903.

He was a farmer in the Tipton Community most of his life.

He had been a member of the New Olivet Presbyterian church south of Mechanicsville and a member of the Modern Woodmen of America.

He is survived by his wife, 4 sons, Claude, Tipton; Guy, Mechanicsville; Ray, Lisbon and Elmer, West Branch; a brother, Nile, Bradenton, Fla., and a sister, Mrs. Jason (Carrie) Smith, Eustis, Fla.

He was preceded in death by 3 sons and 5 brothers.
