Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Nov. 21 at the Sheets and Dahn funeral home for Russell Howard Shaffer, 68. Mr. Shaffer died suddenly Nov. 18 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Don Dawson at Mechanicsville.

Gordon Smith of Clarence officiated at the services. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.

The son of Walter and Alberta Shaffer, he was born in Tipton June 18, 1894. He was united in marriage to Zella Simons in 1913. They spent their married life in Tipton.

He was a rural mail carrier from 1920 until he retired in 1959.

He is survived by a son, Robert, Arcadia, Calif.; 3 daughters, Mrs. George Whipple, Covina, Calif.; Mrs. Dawson and Mrs. Ray Wildasin, Tipton; 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife.
