Funeral services for Anna Katherine Meyer, 73, Bennett, were held Oct. 22 at Peace United Church of Christ in Bennett with Pastor F. C. Schmidt in charge. Burial was in the New Liberty cemetery.

Gus Schepers, William Rohwedder, Kenneth Horstmann, Ralph Ripson, Emil Kelding and Johannos Spickerman were pallbearers. Mrs. Ernest Riedesel was vocalist with Mr. and Mrs. Manuel Serrano and Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Kleppe in charge of flowers.

Mrs. Meyer died suddenly of a heart attack while attending the funeral of a grandchild at DeWitt Oct. 19.

The daughter of Johannos and Doris Giebelstein, she was born in Lempendorf, Germany, Jan. 27, 1889 and came to the United States as a child. She was married to William Meyer, Sept. 4, 1907 in Davenport.

The couple lived in the Wheatland area before moving to the Bennett community 29 years ago. She was a member of the United Church of Christ.

She is survived by 4 sons, Herman, Wheatland; John, Durant; Harvey, Tipton and Harry, Glenwood; 3 daughters, Mrs. Edgar (Mabel) Beuthien, Wheatland; Mrs. Home (Ellen) Rahn, Bennett and Mrs. Nels (Anna Mae) Nelson, Earlville, Ill., 25 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, 4 children, a brother, a grandchild and a great-grandchild.
