Bert Snider, 82, Wilton Junction, died at 4:20 a.m. Feb. 1 at Mercy hospital, Davenport, following a brief illness.
A retired farmer, Mr. Snider had been a hog buyer for Dubuque Packing Company for 16 years.
Born in Cedar county March 13, 1879, he was the son of George and Sarah Baker Snider. He was a lifetime resident of the Wilton Junction area. On March 8, 1902, he married Myrtle Follmer at Davenport. He was a member of the Christian church.
Survivors include the widow, 2 sons, Leo, Davenport and Hilbert, Wilton Junction; a brother, Roy, Muscatine; a sister, Mrs. Alice Neyens, Santa Monica, Calif.; 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, 3 brothers and one sister.
Funeral services were held Feb. 5 at the Wilton Junction Presbyterian church, the Rev. J. Paul Boaz officiating. Burial was at Oakdale cemetery.
